MOAI Consulting developed the AMPLIFY tool to estimate the clinical and humanistic benefits associated with pembrolizumab use across reimbursed indications in Portugal. Published in PharmacoEconomics – Open, the study estimated that, between 2017 and 2024, pembrolizumab treatment for 13,530 patients generated 14,042 additional quality-adjusted life years (QALYs), 17,914 additional life years, and 2,021 avoided deaths.
Health and economic gains from bariatric surgery in Portugal: an in-depth analysis using a Markov model
MOAI developed a Markov model to assess the long-term cost-effectiveness of bariatric surgery compared with conventional treatment in the Portuguese healthcare setting. Published in Health Economics Review, the study showed that bariatric surgery is cost-effective within 10 years, becomes cost-saving after 20 years, and provides an additional 7 quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) while reducing lifetime healthcare costs by €4,534 per patient.
Lung Cancer Screening in Portugal: A PULMONALE Pilot Project
MOAI Consulting supported PULMONALE in developing a pilot project for lung cancer screening in Portugal, contributing to the literature review, consultancy and medical writing behind the publication. The project proposes a structured roadmap for implementing lung cancer screening, aiming to enable earlier diagnosis, reduce mortality and improve health outcomes in Portugal.
